Avril dresses in what she calls a "sk8er punk" style. Wearing ties with every outfit, caked on eye make-up, fake tattoos and arm-socks. That makes her think she's punk. As punk as Britney Spears, who revived the whole arm-sock trend, which Madonna originated. Ooh! How punk-ish of Avril!
Music:
Anyone who's ever heard one stanza of real ska music, knows what it sounds like. If you've listened to Avril's CD, or downloaded a couple of the songs, you'd come to one conclusion: Avril is not a punk-star. She's a pop-star. No where on her album did I once hear one punk song. I heard Mandy Moore-ish "la da da da, la da da da['s]" on one song Things I'll Never Say though. Sure some of her songs have rock-punk influences, but they're mostly pop. Nobody's Fool, even has her rapping. Now how is that punk? Since when did punkers rap? Make up your mind Avril.
Skater:
In every interview, in every magazine, in every situation Avril claims she's been skating for years. She's also said her best trick is an ollie, anyone who skates or hangs out with skaters knows an ollie is the first trick any skater learns. She hasn't been skating for years like she claims.
Guitar:
Avril talks about how she's real. Claims she writes her music & comes up with the inspiration herself by sitting down and playing her guitar. Sounds neat, if it were true. Ever notice how she barely touches the guitar during her performances? How it hangs around her neck like a decoration in pictures? That's because that's all it is to her. A useless decoration, and something to brake car windows with. Avril cannot play the guitar. She knows a few chords and probably is trying to learn right now, since the label knows people are catching on. How d I know? Ask any fan who's been to an Avril concert. She plays a few chords in maybe two songs. How is that talent? I can pick up a trumpet & learn the tune to Twinkle! Twwinkle Little Star!, but that doesn't mean I can play the trumpet. Do you follow me?
